Maya Nasri

Maya Nasri also known as Maya Houssam Asmar is a popular Lebanese singer. Maya Nasri was born in a town in North of Lebanon. Later she moved with her family to Beirut. In Beirut Maya joined the Lebanese University of Fine Arts where she studied theater, television, cinema, acting and directing.

Maya Nasri started her career as a model, but in the year 1998 she decided to become and singer. Maya participated in the television show (Kas Al Nojom), where she won three gold medals for her performances.

With the release of her first album Akhbarak Eih...? (What is your news?), Maya started her jouney in the world of fame. Her Album had three hit singles Akhbarak Eih?, Ya Wahashni, and Khalini Bil Jaw.

As a result of her first album success, Maya Nasri went on her first Middle Eastern tour, which was a huge success.

Law Kan Leik Alb ( If you have a heart) was her second album which was produced by Rotana. The Hit Single topped charts throughout the Middle East. The album''s second single, 7abbit Hob also did very well. It topped various charts and was constantly being played on radio and television.

Maya then released the single Ana Bahtaglak, which did moderately well on the charts. After she had finished promoting the album she decided to begin composing a third album.

Maya has received countless offers to perform in Egyptian movies. She has continuously refused, but is now thinking about actually acting. She has yet come to a decision. Also, according to a poll conducted by the Israeli televisions regarding viewer’s interest in Arab singers, Nasri was denoted the title ‘best loved Arab singer’ in Israel, making this young pop singer an amazing sensation.

Maya released her third album with Rotana entitled Izzay Taarafni in February 2005.

Maya is currently engaged to the Lebanese star, Marwan Khoury. She has decided to keep her personal family out of the lime light, and has decided to keep her personal life private.
