Reports published a while back based on interviews with israeli soldiers, had talked about the tough military preparations the IDF had been going through in preparation for the war.
The rumors or even facts brought up by the press in the past months which saw the strike against Lebanon as unrelated to the incident of the 2 soldiers, but rather a previously planned out war intended to defeat Hezbollah, were recently made official by Peretz himself. In his latest comments, he clearly said the war had nothing to do with the 2 soldiers. It was a strategic war to put a stop to Hezbollah''s threath of israeli interests. He then sarcastically asked if anyone out there actually beleived
that the 2 soldiers'' incident was the real reason behind the war.
